The Main URL uses the most common media streaming protocol.

The HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) URL uses m3u8 files to describe media streams and it uses HTTP for the communication between the server and the client. It is the default media streaming protocol for all ios devices, but it can be used on Android and web browsers.

M3U is a computer file format for a multimedia playlist. By entering the M3U URL in a browser, the file is downloaded locally and can be used for listening to the station for a broader audience.

PLS is also a computer file format for a multimedia playlist. By entering the PLS URL in a browser, the file is downloaded locally and can be used for listening to the station for a broader audience.

Under Relays is where you can create relay stations that rebroadcast your main station. Upon clicking on Create Relay, you can either set up a simple relay that mirrors the settings of the station or choose to create a transcoding relay, in which case you can choose among more options to edit.

In Players, you will be able to find your station’s Stream Name for using Radiojar’s API, as well as an IFrame based player, which you can use in your website by copying and pasting the embedded code. You will also be able to configure the player to render the song that is now playing, as well as disable the autoplay option.

The Session Rules refer to an IP-based filtering method, that allows an account administrator to route the listeners through a certain stream or a group of streams, with various actions being applied.

Some examples of how the rules can be applied are:

  • redirecting listeners from different countries to alternative content, different bitrates and even particular advertising serving static media files and/ or on demand vast ads.

  • Allowing specific groups of listeners to reach a station’s broadcast only on specific time-frames.

Under the advanced tab, you are able to check the status of your station’s server, library and streaming.

You are also able to restart or shutdown the station. Restarting will cause a momentary silence on the stream, whereas shutdown will cause a drop on the stream.
