Is Revma compatible with Icecast/Shoutcast?
Revma is using RCS’ own architecture, which is compatible with Icecast.
Is RTMP supported in Revma?
RTMP is not supported in Revma streaming service.
How to setup my encoder, can I use any bitrate and stream format?
Any encoder compatible with Icecast can be used in Revma. Revma can accept audio in AAC or MP3 with the bitrate set between 32 and 320kbps.
The encoder will connect with Revma using the credentials located under Settings → Broadcast → Master link at the station’s management panel.
Why did my encoder not reconnect automatically?
Some encoders provide auto-reconnect functionality, where others don’t. This depends on the encoder’s capabilities.
Which hardware and software is compatible with Revma?
A hardware/software that can broadcast in Icecast will be functional with Revma.
Activating a demo/testing station for the broadcaster to test the connectivity between their equipment and Revma is suggested.
Listeners are complaining about gaps in my stream, what can i do for this?
Stream gaps are at most cases originating from network insufficiencies. These could be found either on the broadcasters' end or on the listeners’ end.
I notice latency between my broadcast and the actual stream, why is that?
Due to the nature of our cloud service it is reasonable to experience a reasonable amount of latency.
How can I invite others in my account/ station?
Via the ‘People’ management section, which is located under the account, station and relay station level. Depending on the level users are invited from, they will be assigned the corresponding role.
What kind of data/reports are available?
Revma collects and displays data for listeners, digital audio ads and tracks. For track reports, Revma needs to receive the metadata from the broadcasters' equipment.
Can I stream on https?
Revma stations are by default served over HTTPS
What are relay stations?
A relay station is a duplicate of the primary station. A relay station is at all times relaying the primary station.
What is the difference between transcoding and simple relay station?
Upon creating a relay, users are asked to select if the relay station will be a transcoding one (that can be adjusted to have different media format and bitrate) or a simple one (a simple relay will get the primary station's feed and broadcast it as is, in the same media format and bitrate). Once a simple relay is created, it cannot be altered to a transcoding one.
Do you cover royalties?
No, Revma does not cover royalties.
How does the mail alert system work?
Once the encoder is connected/ disconnected from a Revma station, a notification will be sent to the broadcasters via email.
Are there any restrictions regarding the listeners’ or the broadcasters’ country of origin?
There are no restrictions on the broadcasters’ or the listeners’ country of origin. Revma streaming service is available worldwide.
Can I have ads/monetization?
Revma does not interfere with any station’s content or ads. An integration with Vast compliant digital audio ad providers is available.
What ad providers are compatible with your service?
Revma provides an integration with Vast compliant ad providers, like Google, AdsWizz, Triton, Targetspot.
Is there a way to restrict who listens to a station?
Yes, via ‘session rules’ broadcasters can restrict access to the stream to certain IPs/ countries/ groups of countries.
How can my audience listen to a station?
Via the service, there is a player that broadcasters can embed in their own website. Furthermore, the station’s stream URL can be used for the broadcasters' custom web players, mobile applications, online directories etc
What is the difference between Sessions and Unique IP’s in analytics?
Any listener sessions that start and last for at least 20 seconds are recorded in the “Sessions” reports. Among them, only the ones from separate networks/ip’s will be recorded in the “Unique IP’s”. If, for example, 20 listeners from the same network connect to the stream, this will count as 20 sessions but 1 unique IP.
