How to broadcast using Rocket Broadcaster

Rocket Broadcaster is a free software that streams audio to Icecast, SHOUTcast, RSAS, and most online streaming services. It also has a Pro version available, which comes at a cost. Rocket Broadcaster is only available on Windows.

To go live using Rocket Broadcaster, follow the apps instructions when you first run it, until you are asked for your streaming credentials. If you have Rocket Broadcaster you can change these credentials as well as other settings (Name, bitrate) by clicking on Broadcast on the app’s topbar and choosing Streams…

If you already have Rocket Broadcaster, you can enter or alter these credentials as well as other settings (stream name, bitrate) by clicking on Broadcast on the app’s top-bar and choosing Streams…

Choose IceCast2 under the Server type. Under Hostname or IP enter your station’s Server Address. The following required are the Port, the Username, the Mount password under Password and the Mountpoint under Mount. Keep in mind that a “/” will need to precede the Mountpoint.

To find your station's Master link credentials, navigate to Settings>broadcast

 

It’s important to set Rocket Broadcaster to Capture the metadata of the content streamed from another application in your computer. Go to Broadcast on the top-bar and click on metadata capture. on the window that opens, tick the option “Capture metadata from the title of another application window”. Bellow you will be able to choose which app that will be, according to the content played and the metadata shown, and then choose the format that matches the metadata description.

 

After you have entered your Credentials and altered any other setting you wish, choose the option Start Broadcast to go live.
