Revma Compatible Broadcasting Tools

To Broadcast to your Revma station, an Icecast v2 compatible Broadcasting tool is required.

Broadcast Using This Tool (BUTT)

Butt is a simple IceCast v1/ShoutCast v1 compatible tool that takes one audio stream from your soundcard and relays it directly to the server. When properly set up, all you have to do is run Butt and then just play the music in an audio player or use your microphone, without needing any extra interaction with the streaming software. Mixxx

Mixxx is the only free cross-platform vinyl control software and has the most advanced MIDI/HID controller support. You can download it for free from the official website and it is compatible with all operating systems. You can use this guide to set up Mixxx and connect it with Revma.

Music Player Daemon (MPD)

Music Player Daemon (MPD) is a flexible, powerful, server-side application for playing music. Through plugins and libraries it can play a variety of sound files while being controlled by its network protocol.

SAM Broadcaster

SAM Broadcaster is a professional DJ system that allows you to stream audio over the internet to listeners across the world. SAM Broadcaster is only available for Windows platforms. You can use this guide to set up SAM Broadcaster and connect it with Revma.

Virtual DJ

Virtual DJ is a range of audio/video mixing software for use by mobile and club DJs. It is compatible with Windows and MacOs. You can use this guide to set up Virtual DJ and connect it with Revma.

Audio Hijack

Audio Hijack is a broadcasting tool standing out for its user friendly “block” system and variety of tools. It is available only on MacOS. You can see how to set it up here.

Radio Boss

This is an affordable, reliable automation software solution to automating your broadcasting needs. It is available only on Windows OS.

IceS

Download the source client for broadcasting in MP3 format to an icecast2 server. IceS reads audio data from an input and sends the audio data to one or more files or icecast servers. Before it’s actually sent out, some processing maybe performed, typically resampling and/or downmixing to produce streams suited to various bandwidth requirements. Available only on Linux/ Unix.

Edcast

Edcast is a free broadcasting tool “targeted to the small station owner”. There are three different flavours of Edcast, a Winamp plugin, a Foobar plugin and a standalone Broadcaster. Edcast is available only on Windows.

Rocket Broadcaster

Rocket Broadcaster is a software that streams audio to Icecast, SHOUTcast, RSAS, and most online streaming services. It also has a Pro version available, which comes at a cost. Rocket Broadcaster is only available on Windows and is available in a free version with a limitation of streaming options (eg. bitrate). BroadcastMySelf is an android client for Icecast/Shoutcast Server.
